Tamarind Shrimp

This recipe will not be sour as usually the recipes with tamarind taste. You got to try it to appreciate it. Happy cooking.

Ingredients:

poppy seeds - 1/2 tsp
coconut scraped - 1 cup
shrimp - 1/2 kg
ginger garlic paste - 1 1/2 tsp
salt to taste
cumin seeds - 1 tsp
fenugreek seeds - 1/2 tsp
mustard seeds - 1 tsp
onions - 2 med
green chillies - 5-6
curry leaves - handful
turmeric - 1/2 tsp
coriander powder - 2 tsp
chilli powder - 1 tsp
Tamarind paste

Method:


  • Roast the poppy seeds and coconut and grind it into a paste
  • Marinate the shrimp in ginger garlic paste, salt, turmeric powder and chili powder
  • Saute the shrimp in oil and remove and set aside
  • Heat oil and add cumin seeds, fenugreek seeds, mustard seeds, onions, salt, green chillies, curry leave, turmeric powder, ginger garlic paste, chili powder, coriander powder and cook
  • Add the coconut paste to the pan and cook.
  • Add the shrimp to the pan and then add tamarind paste and salt
  • Garnish with coriander leaves finally
  • Hot and tasty tamarind shrimp ready
